What
used to be a meticulously-curated list of cards has now
become a list of exclusion. In other words, I need whatever Griffeys
are not listed HERE.
If you are checking this list as part of a
trade, fear not! I still love duplicates, especially condition
upgrades, oddballs, and variants. I’m no snob.
Sorry – it just
got too hard managing both the positive and the negative, not to mention
the fact that a complete list of Griffeys I don’t have is virtually
impossible.
Just a heads-up...the only difference between the 1990 Fleer and the 1990 Fleer Canadian is the copyright line. No French words, no difference in cardstock or anything besides the copyright. If I had known that, I wouldn't have bought the "Canadian" version of Kurt Stillwell last year online.

Well that's a let down.
DeleteStill, be that as it may, if it has a difference it must be in the collection....
Good luck with the 1993 Finest refractor.. I just bought the Frank Thomas for myself as a birthday present
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous. That was a $2000 card at one time.
DeleteBrad and I must be on the same wavelength... that was the #1 card on your wantlist that stood out. I really, really, really, really, really want the 1993 Tony Gwynn Finest Refractor.
ReplyDeletehey mr.griffey collector I have a 2011 in the game heroes and prospects grand slam griffey jr.memrabilia card it is a game used piece of his batters glove the nike swoosh it is a 1/1 I was wondering what you think its worth
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to say with 1/1 cards, but you'll get a good idea from eBay or by looking it up in Beckett (do they list 1-offs?). I'd imagine it's worth a couple hundred dollars. Wanna trade for it?
DeleteShoot me an email (can't seem to find yours). Have a Griffey item you might be interested in (it's low end, don't worry).

Junkie, shoot me an email to my aol account with your address. jfmjr1@aol.com http://johnnnystradingspot.blogspot.com/ I have some cards to send you, maybe a griffey or two as well. John Miller
ReplyDeleteJunkie, got your note on my blog about the Rolling Stones insert, I am working on a trade that includes it but if it falls through I will let you know. Also, I couldn't track down your email, shoot it my way and maybe we can work out a trade sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteHey Junkie, I was just going through my Griffey cards I collected from 1991 -1997. It was fun seeing them again. About 8 years ago I sold about 90% of my non- Griffey stuff, and did pretty well. Glad I did, because prices on ebay are low, low, low these days! Most of my Griffey stuff that was worth some good money in the '90's are dollar cards now!
ReplyDeleteBoy I sure loved collecting Griffey's back then! I especially enjoyed collecting the oddball stuff! But your collection blows mine away!!
It looks like I have some 60+ cards that aren't on your list. My problem(s) is, I have never traded away a Griffey card before, and I don't have much in duplicates...what's a guy to do??
Here is a sample of some I have..not on your list...
'89 Pacific Cards + Comics #'s 5, 10,11 and 18. I do have 2 #10's
'89 Star Blue/white #8 #11
'90 Star Blue/white 11 card complete set. I have extra #'s 2,3,4,5,8,9,9, &11.
'90 Star Yellow/white #'s 1,2,3,4 &9.
'90 Star Teal/white #'s 2,6,10.
'90 Topps Sticker #49.
I also have 11 different '89 Broders and 5 different '90 Broders.
And more...
I'm kind of thinking of only keeping my strong rookies, inserts (and oddballs???) I'm kind of lost and not sure what to do!
Any ideas??
I never recommend trading away anything you even remotely like. Also, you may notice I don't bring up Star often on this blog as frankly I don't know much about it. I would recommend checking prices online in places like ebay and comc, then selling them either as a package or individually if they are worth a lot of money.
DeleteAnd if you're interested in a trade, email me at tjv504 at gmail dot com. Maybe we can work something out....
Thanks for reading!
Hey, if you send me your address I noticed I have like five off your need list that I'll happily send to ya.

I love this idea!
DeleteI was going through some stuff and came across a Griffey oddball item that I know only has one true home. Send me your address. marc dot brubaker at gmail dot com
