A Box of 2015 Opening Day Sprayed Reasonably Cool Inserts All Over Me

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! Ohhhh.... <sigh>

I recently picked up a box of 2015 Opening Day because it was just so darn reasonably-priced. It is of the Hobby variety as you can tell from the little H circle logo. It even contained a hit. Take a look:

The base cards are great, of course, as they are essentially the regular base cards minus the foil.

These tend to be my favorite part of busting Opening Day packs, and this year's lot do not disappoint. Rosie Red looks pretty good in that little skirt, am I right? Fellas? No? Just me? Alright.

It's a little hazy in that room. Did a fire extinguisher just go off?

Here are the shinies I pulled, all up for grabs, of course.

The inserts seem to be rooted in fun/unique photography a lot more in Opening Day than in the regular set, and I love it. Especially when it's got little treats like this:

I could look at this photo all day.

Here's a fun idea for a photo-based insert.

This one, too, and with a great design to boot. That Lincecum is one of my favorite cards from the entire box. From glasses to gut, it's a winner.

The mandatory lenticular insert. Again, up for grabs.

Here's one insert I am absolutely smitten with. I even like how they gave the photographers credit right on the card. Anyone with a smart phone can have a baseball card these days. Well done, Topps. Take it back to the fans.

Here is the hit I promised. It's a good-looking card, and I dig the color of the swatch, but I would trade 100 of these cards for more of this:

Hee hee. I'm mean.

  1. Opening Day probably has the best inserts of any brand out there these days.

  2. I didn't know Opening Day was hobby, too. Well, maybe I did, who can keep track these days? Any card with the Teddy Roosevelt mascot cracks me up for days.

  3. I'm interested in the Cardinals shiny cards and any lenticular extras. I always try to collect that Opening Day Stars insert set and fail miserably.

  4. Wow. That Lincecum insert is epic. It's almost as cool as the mascots and lenticular cards.
